Perfect, except for one small screw

Super great. Instructions surprisingly accurate and the process, although complex, went ahead without issue... except one very small issue I'll mention here. The iMac I upgraded did not have an existing SSD, as such when I put in the new drive there was no screw to secure it. I had one, so not a problem. But seeing as your package was so very well equipped otherwise, it appears an oversight.

Much needed for fusion drive iMacs

Simply unlink the fusion drive Core Storage system with a couple of simple terminal commands and replace that terrible 32GB SSD with something usable. After a simple reinstall of MacOS onto your awesome new Aura Pro X2 - your boot times will go from in excess of 5-8 minutes to around 15-20 seconds!
Your original hard drive stays intact and can be used for document storage.
If you have lots of documents, then simply move your user "Home" structure in MacOS Settings to your original hard drive and your Mac will only use the new SSD for the operating system (which is actually around 30-40GB).

All-in-all a highly recommended upgrade for the Fusion Drive iMacs.
If you're not technically competent then get help - this upgrade is highly advanced for the average user, and catastrophic damage will result if you aren't careful.

Terrific Installation Videos

The OWC SSD installation video was terrific and would give anyone confidence to complete this complicated installation.
The installation kit is comprehensive and the tools are OK.
The self adhesive strips for the top of the 27” screen (either side of the camera) are both about 5mm too long and end up with a crease that’s a bit ugly but still seems to compress and work.
I had trouble with the final installation of macOS using internet recovery. I followed the instructions for an Intel based Mac and used Command+R on power up. My iMac didnt find the new drive and my heart sank at the thought of doing it all again. Macfixit were responsive and immediately offered a replacement drive. I did some more reading and further down in the macOS installation instructions there’s a second option to initiate internet recovery Mac OS installation using Option+Command+R. This worked and the new drive miraculously appeared and it all went smoothly from there. No need to pull it all apart and put a new drive in. It’d be great if the macOS installation instructions were as good as the SSD installation video!
